Bleep bleep sheep

So our last ewe had her lamb, finally.

Feeding time Monday morning I saw some blood and stuff. I was not as excited as with the other ones. We had our reservations because most of the other struggled.

Called hubby who conveniently didn't answer his phone. No idea why he even has a phone.

So finished the feeding process, checked on the ewe who clearly was in labor but it didn't look as it's supposed to. Got hubby out and we went in to see what we have.

He felt legs and knees and.... A tail.. Great!

He had trouble pulling the lamb so after evaluation we called our vet.

This woman is awesome.

Dressed in overalls and flip flops (she had a small toe accident and couldn't fit her shoes) she walked up, sanitized her hands and went in. This is the first time we saw someone else pull a lamb and wow we learned a lot.

She manouvred the lamb such that it's legs was lined up properly to come out. She had to PULL..

The lamb was big and the ewe was small. He was purple when he came out. She had to really work him to get him breathing. The vet went to check for another one. Can you believe there is one more.

Pulled lamb 2, he was the right way around. Struggled to pull him, his head kept going the wrong way. Got him out and he was very limp. Unfortunately, after trying our best he didn't make it. He was dead before he came out.

Poor ewe went through so much. It was her first time.

We had to tube feed the lamb about 5 times. He took a couple of hours before he stood for the first time. He couldn't suck, we were so worried that he was not going to make it.

Last night my hubby went to check on him again. He was standing and drinking.

This morning he is still doing well, mom is doing well. She did eat off a piece of his tail. But they are both ok.

What a day.
